frozen pea pods

originally written 16 August 2007
At the supermarket I made the unusual-for-us, but almost-necessary-when-you-consider-the-cost of-fresh-produce-at-this-time-of-year (and the sorry state of my hardly producing garden) decision to buy Peas In A Plastic Bag. T3 watched with interest as I placed them in the trolley, and then asked, “Mama, please may I help you shell them when we get home?”

Somehow it was satisfying to realise she knows where food REALLY comes from and at three years of age is still largely unacquainted with convenience foods, even something as simple as a frozen pea.
